Dr Shehla Ebrahim has a strong mandate for corporate social responsibility and believes that her unique role as health professionals enables her to give back to the communities in which she lives, as well as the world at large.
Dr Ebrahim climbed Mt Kilimanjaro in 2006 to raise money for BC children’s hospital. In 2002, she travelled to Tibet to provide free medical service to the nomads of eastern Tibet.
In 2010 she climbed Mt Everest Base Camp with a mission to promote and support community-based education, especially for girls, in remote, underserviced and war stricken areas of Northern Pakistan. She feels that the best hope for a peaceful and prosperous world lies in the education of all the world’s children.
In collaboration with the Central Asia Institute, a non-profit organization, she has pledged to donate 2% of the profit from the proceeds of Afterglow Skin and Laser Centre as of January 2009.
